CHRISTMAS EVE

8:35 PM

One of my most favorite days of the year! The day before Christmas is a special one. I love gathering with my family. There's always
good food, and laughter.  And focusing on the meaning of Christmas is so refreshing. Even though there's been no snow this season, it's been such a special one!

Grandma's tree is a little scraggly, but I just love it.

I love seeing all kinds of nativities. They are so sweet.

Christmas village. I hope to have my own!

Mom playing Christmas carols while we all sing. It's true that the best way to spread Christmas Cheer is singing loud for all to hear!

Christmas isn't quite the same as the years go on. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but as we grow up and people start their own families, the traditions I am used to are falling a part. Traditions changing isn't my favorite. I just have to get used to it!

Though with all these things changing, it's been extra fun to celebrate season with my husband. Our first married christmas! Even if my regular traditions are changing, it's fun to share traditions that we have experienced with our families growing up, and to create new ones! I especially like Chance's family tradition of having TONS of chocolate around Christmas time...! We haven't been able to do everything I want, it's been such a crazy busy time, but the things we have done (like watch TONS of Christmas movies and drink lots of Hot Cocoa) have been a real treat. Just sitting on the couch with the Christmas lights shining has been the best. I'm going to be really sad when taking down the tree and all of our decorations.

Like I said before, it's been so refreshing to really take some time and focus on the Christmas spirit and remember our Saviors birth. My emotions are very close to the surface and each time I watch Mormon Message about the Savior, I can't help but feel His spirit and love. He Is The Gift
and Angel's From the Realm of Glory by the Piano Guys have been my favorites. I love thinking about being in Heaven and singing with each other and all angels when Christ was born. What a glorious thing to think about! I'm so thankful for the birth of Christ and for all the blessings it has brought to me throughout my life. I'm so happy that there is a whole season where we can really focus on it.

Now excuse me while I "get our place ready" for Santa to come, and while I pray SUPER hard for it to snow tomorrow. The weather forecast is very promising!!
