16 WEEKS

(another entry I wrote a few weeks ago!)

We finally went to the doctor and saw our lil' bean!! He/She was SO active, moving all over the place! And I'm serious, he/she WAVED to us. Hahaha! Even though we KNOW I'm pregnant and have seen the baby and everything, I still feel that I am in this stage of "I know I'm pregnant, but I mean... am I really pregnant!?". I still have symptoms though they have subsided a bit. But I'm not showing super obviously, so it's just so hard to believe!

We FINALLY told our families!! We told Chance's parents the night after we went to the Doctor (just about my 13 week mark), and my parents about a week-ish later, because I wanted to tell them in person! For both of them, I had just been taking pictures for some clients so we came back and told them we wanted to show them some of the pictures! After just a minute of scrolling through my camera, Chance would say "Here's the best picture we have!" and he would whip out the ultra-sound picture! Chance's mom was like "Are you serious!?" and she got a bit teary! My mom snatched the ultra-sound out of Chance's hand and said with a panic look turned to excitement "no way. NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY!!!!" My dad hugged me for a long time :) Hahah I loved their reactions!! Telling all our siblings was super fun too! That has definitely been the funnest part of pregnancy so far.

I still get nauseous (and EXTRA hangry), but only if I don't eat every 2-3 hours.

I don't really believe in cravings due to pregnancy (for me) because although I am pregnant and I could eat a bagel with cream cheese for every meal.... I loved bagels that much before I was pregnant too. Haha, but I guess the point is, I've been indulging in my cravings more than when I wasn't pregnant. I LOVE BAGELS haha. Another interesting thing, that has to do with food, sometimes things are really good for a few days, and then I'm totally uninterested. For example, I had Ritz crackers and cream cheese and it was like the best snack ever! A couple days later I was all excited to eat it again and then I ate it and I was like "ehh... this is not as good as I remember". Haha, it's happened with a few other things. So that's kinda weird.

I'm not as exhausted and tired all the time as I was in the first trimester (woohoo!) and my stuffy/runny nose is WAY more tolerable. Again, I'm not sure if that one was something I caught from my nephew or if it had to do with pregnancy. No more itchy eyes either!

I still have to pee at least one time in the middle of the night, every night (and I'm sure it won't stop anytime for the rest of this pregnancy), which is soooo annoying. Sometimes I will wake up and not have the physical urge to pee, but I KNOW I won't be able to go back to sleep unless I get up and go. So I will just lay there, miserable not being able to go back to sleep, and then after like 20 minutes I'll go. Then I go right back to sleep. Sleep in general is a little bit of a struggle just finding a comfortable position where my nose will stay clear and it's always been a little hard for me to fall asleep fast. And maybe it's because I don't sleep very well, but I feel awful in the mornings. And not morning sickness awful, just like.... BLAH.

But overall I'm feeling pretty good. I'm functioning and doing everything I need to. :)

All of this is still so crazy to me!
