Somehow I found the time to post about Hawai'i! I really didn't want to post about this trip like a year later, so woohoo. And okay, yes. As I was going through all my photos of Hawaii and choosing the ones I wanted to keep, there ended up being WAY more than I anticipated, especially because throughout the trip I kept thinking to myself "I'm not taking enough pictures!"... So I really don't want to pack one post with 200+ photos here is HAWAII: WHAT WE DID PART 1! (Even though I said I wasn't going to do a "play by play" of each day. And I'm still kind of not)
We arrived to Oahu in the later afternoon, and called a taxi to get to our car rental place. We ended up getting in like a limo-type taxi and the driver skills were.... rough hahaha. He dropped us off at our car rental place, which was down a super sketchy road, right next to the prison and it was more of an auto shop than a car rental place... But Tanner got a sweet deal so it's all good! The first van they were getting ready for us was leaking oil like CRRRRAZY, so luckily they gave us a different one, and we didn't have any problems with it :) We got settled into our condo, went shopping for some groceries and came back to relax. Chance and I went down to the hot tub and there was NO one there. Then we walked down to our little Lagoon and again NO ONE THERE. Probably my favorite thing about this trip was how QUIET it all was. Traveling in the off season is the way to go! We had a nice little romantic (cliche) moonlit walk on the beach, listening to the waves crashing in. It. Was. Glorious. (No pics of that haha)
THE TIME CHANGE OF HAWAII WAS THE BEST! We were dead tired at 9:30 and woke up no problem around 6:30. Please. If I could just be a morning person all the time, that would be ideal. We got up, walked around our resort, and took some time flying the drone. The rest of the day we spent on the beach of our Lagoon, swimming and snorkeling, and burning. It feels so good to relax and just do whatever.
